This time two years ago, I handed in my notice, leaving behind a great job, a great company and one of the best bosses I'd ever had. That ended a 20 year career where I'd gone from graduate trainee to a Global Head of Performance role in one of the largest, most respected companies in the world.

And no, I'm not crazy.

It was a great job. But it no longer made me feel great. So I took the leap and I left. With no payout, and nowhere to go. But I had a dream, a dream I discovered I'd buried many years before.

I was sorting through our loft that same year, and came across a piece of paper that had been written some 10 years previously - before the arrival of my first son. A single page headed up 'Career Coach', with a couple of simple action steps scribbled down.

That was the beginnings of the dream - but somehow in the midst of kids, and house moves, and mortgage payments and family life, it got shoved so far down the pecking order that I actually forgot it existed. It was at that moment that I knew this was 'My Thing' and had always been 'My Thing'.

Just maybe the time hadn't felt right before. But when is the right time to walk out on a well-paid, secure job to chase your dream, and start living your passions? Is it never? Or is it now?

For me it was that very day. And I haven't looked back. Fast-forward to now, where I have the honour every day of helping people identify, land and love careers that are just perfect for them.
